4 starts, 1,2,3,4 hours old. He was distracted on the first legs, and pretty darn good after the article on the turn. Don’t love the distraction piece, will stay at 6’ next time out. Articles are improving, next track will be articles, and not at home.

His energy feels a bit low, and his little hop is missing. Thinking I might not let the line run, but rather ask for a bit of a pull next time.

While I didn’t love the distraction, I also didn’t see much difference between the 4 ages.

His restarts on mid article are gorgeous! His indications are better but I would still keep working down away from the track. On evening walks just say down and when he nails it, mark it/click and cookies rain down. You continue walking and he catches up happy and ready to down again. You are giving him lots of good boys, not saying it's bad just not sure why you are doing it. Age did not seem to be an issue at all. Nice!

OOOH, I wasn’t aware of that. I shall shut up! And we are doing lots of random downs. I’ve never had a dog who so disliked down—he’s resisted it his whole life. My shorthair downed better than he does!
