Gusto: 2, 2 turn tracks. Veg, turn transition to NV, turn, transition to V, end. Age: 3.25 hours.

Wow. Apparently we love fronts, overcast, wet, windy. He was step perfect--and I closed my eyes on the straight, level sections to make sure I wasn't cuing an upcoming turn. One detail to practice--he missed an article close to a turn, and took the turn. I called him off and waited for him to find the article. And then he wasn't as willing to retake the leg he'd found (the one I called him off of). Need to practice that, as I could easily call him off for water and I need him to be willing to work the same spot.

Fletch: goal: wet ground with some standing water. 100R, 60L, 60R, 60R, 100. One food drop on legs 2 & 5. No food in article. Age: 75".

Not his best work for sure. Weak start, great loss of scent, weak refinds. Very, very distracted by everything in the environment. Was that just Fletch today, or too much age, or the soggy ground, or the front moving through? No way to know. Will do something easy and motivational next, and then try to break those pieces out and train them.

Need to include distracting environments in his training rotation.

Repeated Tuesday’s tracks in a different location in the fields, and with almost no wind. Totally different dog! I am not drawing any conclusions from this, except maybe he is now more comfortable i
